There are a lot of different types of companies looking for mystery shoppers. Some companies looking for shoppers are the retail companies most of us associate with mystery shopping, but other types of companies also hire mystery shoppers. You could be asked to be a mystery shopper at a health club, a restaurant, or a movie theater for example. Basically any organization that deals with consumers, including government agencies, could be mystery shopped. Sometimes it is a market research company that hires you, and other times it might be the company itself. Your experiences could be used to improve the service at any of these types of venues.
