There are many positive fish oil benefits that prove why you should either consume fish oil or take a fish oil diet supplement throughout your pregnancy.  This is because fish oil contains a high amount of omega 3 fatty acids which have many positive benefits to both the development of the fetus and even further development of your child.  Additionally, studies show that woman who consume fish oil while pregnant have a decreased chance of both miscarriage and premature birth as well as a decreased chance of developing depression after they give birth.  It should be noted though that cod liver oil should not be eaten during pregnancy as it is high in retinol A which is dangerous to a developing fetus.
