When gout strikes then you will probably be desperate for some gout treatments. You will want to put an ice pack on the affected area and raised it up gently, anti-inflammatory pills could also help, and rest will always help. You do not want to be walking around on the affected area as this will only make it worse and if you were to bump the affected area then you will soon regret ever getting out of that chair. Cherries have been known to help stop the buildup of uric acid in the blood, so you may want try eating these to prevent an attack, but they may also be handy (and tasty) to eat while you are enduring an attack and may help to lessen the length of it as well.
