Tornado Safety is Easy and Quick to Teach

Last week my daughter was visiting her friend in Kansas when she called me in a panic. She had just seen on a live tv news report that tornadoes had been reported in the area where she was staying and she was home alone. Because the area of the country where we live is not often threatened with this kind of weather she did not know what to do. I told her the best plan is to get into a room with no windows and near the center of the house. Such a simple thing to learn and something we should all teach our children, no matter where we live!
